Edwina has had a public service career of more than 20 years, primarily in the environment and climate spaces within the Australian Government, including roles in the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry, the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet and the Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water.
Most recently, Edwina has led reforms to the Safeguard Mechanism and the establishment of the Guarantee of Origin scheme. During her career, Edwina has also been involved in drought policy reforms, Murray-Darling Basin water reforms and the establishment of the Bioregional Assessment Program; and has led policy development for electric vehicles and air quality.
Edwina is currently leading the Net Zero Industries Division in the Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water. In this role, Edwina has responsibility for industrial decarbonisation, Hydrogen, CCS, offshore renewables and new technology deployment.
Edwina holds a double degree in Science (Biotechnology) and Law from the University of New South Wales and a Masters of Public Policy (Economic Policy) from the Australian National University.
