Michael van Baarle is the Executive Chairman of ABEL Energy. ABEL Energy is an Australian industrial project development company focusing on the production and use of green hydrogen primarily for the production of green methanol. The company is led by some of the most experienced synthetic fuel proponents in Australia.

Michael was one of the co-founders of the company, with the aim of developing a green methanol production industry in Australia. He has been involved in the development of energy and infrastructure projects in Australia and the US for nearly two decades, with particular focus on methanol and DME. 

ABEL Energy is a member of the Methanol Institute, the Australian Hydrogen Council, and CO2 Value Australia.
