Born on 23 December 1978 in Goch, North Rhine-Westphalia, Stefan Rouenhoff has served as a Member of the German Bundestag since 2017.
Since May 2025, he has held the position of Parliamentary State Secretary to the Federal Minister for Economic Affairs and Energy. During his time in the Bundestag, Stefan Rouenhoff has served on the Committee for Economic Affairs from 2021 to 2025, and on the Committee for Economic Affairs and Energy from 2017 to 2021.
From 2014 to 2017, Stefan Rouenhoff worked as Trade Policy Officer at the Permanent Representation of the Federal Republic of Germany to the European Union. From 2012 to 2014, he served as Press Officer (Ministry Spokesperson) at the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy.
From 2010 to 2012, Stefan Rouenhoff worked as Policy Officer for Fundamental Issues of SME Policy at the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Technology. In 2010, he completed a research fellowship at the World Trade Organization (WTO) in the Economic Research and Statistics Division.
From 2008 to 2010, he worked as Research Assistant at the Chair of Economics, specialising in International Economics, at Otto Friedrich University Bamberg.
Stefan Rouenhoff completed his Diploma in Economics at the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-University Bonn in 2008, following studies from 2001 to 2007. He earned a Master's degree in International Studies from the University of Birmingham, United Kingdom, in 2006, after studying there from 2004 to 2005. He pursued Magister studies in Political Science with subsidiary subjects in Economics and Public Law at the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-University Bonn from 2000 to 2004.
From 1998 to 2000, he completed vocational training as a Technical Draughtsman specialising in Civil Engineering.
